Welcome to the website of the International Order of the Blue Gavel, District 11.
Our mission is to recognize past commodores of the international yachting community and unite them in order to promote the highest ideals and preserve its customs and traditions through social, educational and humanitarian programs.
We do this through fund-raising for programs, which in the past have included scholarship for Junior Sailing programs, Baskets of Toiletries for battered women’s shelters, and squares crocheted or knitted by our members or their wives, which were turned into warm afghans to greet soldiers returning from Iraq.
In addition, we are a social organization and have several Windy Qs per year – barbeques held at the Del Rey Yacht Club to promote friendship and educational programs.
